Air France, 2.800 redundancies and the title plummets to the Paris Stock Exchange

There are 2.800 redundancies foreseen in Air France's new restructuring plan, made necessary to meet the savings target of the Transform 2015 programme. The company's management has also announced that greater recourse will be made to sub-contracting of French airports and that the provincial bases of Marseille, Nice and Toulouse will be maintained, but with programs adapted to seasonality. On the other hand, a strengthening of the low-cost branch Transavia is expected. Today, after the announcement of the downsizing, Air France stock suffers on the Paris Stock Exchange, where it lost more than 4% in the mid-afternoon 6.810 euro.
