The judges of the IX criminal section of the Rome court sentenced Gianfranco Lande, the so-called "Madoff dei Parioli", to nine years in prison and perpetual disqualification from public office in relation to the scam of several hundred million euros which involved the funds of hundreds of savers of "good" Rome, through a company based precisely in the Parioli district.
The financial advisor has been in prison since March 2011. Yesterday, during the replies, his defenders, the lawyers Salvatore Sciullo and Susanna Carraro, took the floor, according to which Lande must be acquitted of the charge of criminal conspiracy aimed at abusive financial activity, crimes for which the prosecutor Luca Tescaroli asked for 12 years and 8 months of prison.
