Tennis, Nadal in the legend: eighth title at Roland Garros

The Spaniard Rafael Nadal wins his eighth title on Parisian clay, an absolute record (last year he equaled Borg's 7 triumphs), beating compatriot David Ferrer in the easiest final of all in three agile sets (6-3, 6 -2, 6-3).

Tennis, Nadal in the legend: eighth title at Roland Garros

No one ever like him. Neither at Roland Garros, nor in any other single Grand Slam tournament. The Spaniard Rafael Nadal wins his eighth title on Parisian clay, an absolute record (last year he equaled Borg's 7 triumphs), beating compatriot David Ferrer in the easiest final of all in three agile sets (6-3, 6 -2, 6-3).

The Mallorcan's streak would probably have risen to nine titles and would have been consecutive without that defeat against Soderling in the 2009 quarterfinals, to date Nadal's only defeat on the fields of Roland Garros, where he has won almost continuously since 2005, when he was just 19 years old.

The left-handed man from Manacor therefore definitively enters the tennis legend, climbing to 12 Grand Slam titles overall (he also boasts 2 Wimbledon, 1 Australian and 1 Us Open): ahead of him only Sampras (14) and his friend-rival Roger Federer (17).
