Success for Madame Tussauds waxworks on the London Stock Exchange

The waxworks of 'Madame Tussauds', much loved and photographed by tourists, make the boom on the London Stock Exchange. Merlin Entertainment, operator of numerous attractions including the wax museum, raised over 1,1 billion euros on the day of its listing. And the figure could increase if, given the interest of investors, the option to place additional shares is exercised.

Merlin, which already operates the London Eye Ferris wheel in the British capital and Legoland, has sparked interest in British price lists. The shares, set at an initial range between 2,8 and 3,3 pounds, at the opening of trading showed an increase of 13%.

The net proceeds of the operation, almost 200 million euros, will go to refinance the debt. Good news for the current shareholders, the speculation funds Blackstone and CVC and the Danish company that controls the Lego group. And also for the new shareholders, who, among other things, will receive discounts on tickets for various attractions.
