Snam concludes the purchase of Arbolia from the CDP Foundation and becomes the sole shareholder

Snam closed the acquisition from CDP Foundation 49% of Arbolia, benefit company created in 2020 to develop urban forestation initiatives in Italy. Snam, which already owns 51% of the company, becomes like this sole shareholder.

Snam and the acquisition of Arbolia

“The operation stems from Snam's desire to benefit more from the skills acquired by Arbolia in the field of forestation, integrating them with the industrial and technical ones gained by the company through the environmental restoration connected to the infrastructural projects”, explains the company in a note.

Numbers in hand, to date, Arbolia has achieved 31 urban woods in 24 Municipalities distributed throughout the national territory, for a total of over 70 thousand trees planted. Once fully operational, the new green belts will allow for the absorption of more than 8.900 tons of carbon dioxide in twenty years and up to 34 tons of fine particles a year, returning more than 6.500 tons of oxygen to the environment in twenty years.
