Prysmian Group, world leader in the energy and telecommunications cable systems sector, and AIESEC, the largest international student-run organization dedicated to achieving peace and developing human potential, today announced a global partnership in favor of “Youth for Global Goals”, the initiative developed by AIESEC in collaboration with the United Nations with the aim of activating the leadership potential of young people so that they contribute to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals.
Through this partnership, Prysmian Group will encourage its employees and AIESEC members to organize projects around the world on social responsibility and sustainability issues. On the one hand, the Group will be involved through local affiliates, as a sponsor, in "Student Exchange" projects aimed at students from all over the world, with the aim of nurturing and enhancing the leadership skills of young people at an international level . On the other hand, Prysmian will involve its under 30 employees in the "Global Volunteer" program to carry out projects related to the sustainability vision pursued by the Group.
The collaboration with AIESEC is in fact closely linked to Prysmian Group's sustainability strategy, based on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The promoted social projects will focus on the SDGs adopted by Prysmian in its sustainability plan, such as Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure, Sustainable Cities and Communities, Responsible Consumption and Production, as well as Gender Equality, which represents a fundamental theme in Prysmian's long-term strategy human resources management of Prysmian.
Gender Equality will also be one of the main topics addressed by the Group at the "Global Youth Speak Forum", the annual AIESEC forum to be held on 12 July in Cartagena (Colombia), on the occasion of which Prysmian Group will organize a workshop and roundtables to receive feedback on this topic from a large audience of young people.
