Nyse Euronext: net profit down, weighs on the merger with Deutsche Boerse

Numbers below expectations for Nyse Euronext, the company that manages Paris and New York. In fact, the company recorded a net profit of 154 million dollars, equal to 0,59 usd per share, marking a decrease of 20% compared to the same period last year. The deterioration is linked to the merger with the German Deutsche Boerse and the consequent absence of the tax revenue from which it had previously benefited. Net of the costs relating to the merger with the German rival, the figure reaches 160 million but still remains lower than the 167 million of 2010. Total revenues show a decrease of 12% to 1,09 billion dollars, while net of accounts there is an increase of 1%. Fixed operating expenses decreased 3% to $419 million and operating profit was $242 million (-2%). Debt/EBITDA ratio fell to 1,7 and board of directors proposed quarterly cash coupon of $0,3 per security
