The Siena prosecutor's office has closed the investigation into MPS. The crimes accused of the former directors of the institute are market manipulation, obstacle to the supervisory bodies and false prospectus for the acquisition of Banca Antonveneta, an operation around which the attention of the prosecutors is concentrated.
The notifications of the closure of the investigation are arriving in these hours to the suspects. The list includes former president Giuseppe Mussari, also accused of insider trading, former general manager Antonio Vigni, Daniele Pirondini, Marco Morelli, Giovanni Raffaele Rizzi, Tommaso Di Tanno, Pietro Fabretti, Leonardo Pizzichi, Fabrizio Rossi, as well as the same Mps bank. But the list also includes, surprisingly, the name of JP Morgan, accused of not having communicated to the Bank of Italy that it had received an "indemnity" from the Sienese bank with which MPS guaranteed it against any losses.
