Mondadori it closed 2013 with a net loss of 185,4 million, against the loss of 166,1 million recorded in 2012. Last year's consolidated turnover was 1,275 billion, down by 9,9%. This was announced by the media group, anticipating that the performance of the group's business was higher than forecasts in the first few months of 2014 and estimating a gross operating margin in excess of 2016 million at the end of 100. 

The stock accelerated after the results were released, gaining more than two and a half percentage points shortly after 15 p.m., to 1,467 euro. 

Non-recurring expenses amounted to €2013 million in 61,9 (€4,3 million in 2012), largely attributable to reorganization activities, and write-downs for impairment of €145,4 million compared to €194,3 million in 2012. 99,3 million are attributable to Mondadori France.

Consolidated EBITDA, net of non-recurring items, amounted to 49,1 million, down 32,2% on 2012. The group's net financial position was negative by 363,2 million, against -267,6 ,31 of 2012 December XNUMX.

In a market that "still does not show clear signs of a trend reversal", the performance of the Mondadori group's businesses in the first few months of 2014 is "above forecasts - reads a note from the group -. In addition to the good results of publishing activities and products, the effects of the reorganization and reduction of operating costs initiatives set up in 2013 are highlighted”. Mondadori estimates for the end of 2014 a gross operating margin "in strong growth and higher" than the levels of 2012.

Lastly, the company sets itself the goal of achieving profitability at the end of 2016, in terms of consolidated gross operating margin, of more than 100 million, "with all the activities that will have an improving trend and positive profitability".
