“We, calmly, must follow the other countries of the European Union”. This was stated by the president of Confindustria, Emma Marcegaglia, regarding the hypothesis of raising the retirement age in Italy. "We are a European country - added the entrepreneur arriving in Milan at the Federchimica assembly - and for this reason we must also follow the behavior of other countries: 20% of their GDP is destined for pensions".
With regard to the 'Tremonti draft' on the tax reform being examined by the government, Marcegaglia affirms: "it is a broad menu: we need to go into the details and see where it will cut: however there are interesting things - adds the president of Confindustria - such as the three Irpef to 20-30-40% and the gradual elimination of Irap”.
