The Italian machine tool industry (from wood saws to the most sophisticated robots) is one of the strong points of our exports, and in the year that is about to close, exports have experienced a 30% increase (+20% for the production). But the competitors are not sitting on their hands. Mitsubishi Electric is starting to expand its offers for automation in factories, so as to gain market share in countries that are still buoyant: China, India, Brazil, the ASEAN countries and all emerging countries in general.
The fields of application targeted by the Me are above all energy-saving solutions in China and infrastructure projects in the countries of South-East Asia (ASEAN). By the end of 2012, Me will have 3 factories in China related to automation processes: Mitsubishi Electric Dalian Industrial Products Co Ltd, which already deals with mechatronics and control systems, Mitsubishi Electric Automation Manufacturing (Changshu) Co Ltd which will servo motors and CNC machine, and Mitsubishi Electric Low Voltage Equipment (Xiamen) Co Ltd.
