White gold in San Francisco and the painter in love with clouds on FIRST Arte

Rich weekend on FIRST Art, the FIRSTonline magazine dedicated to the world of art and culture: Marika Lion takes us on a discovery of John Constable, the English painter in love with clouds. Constable was born on 11 June 1776 in East Bergholt, in the English countryside, and he was the painter of the countryside: he had a passion for rural landscapes, farms and indeed clouds. About it one day he said "I was born to paint a happier land, my dear old England".

The weekend menu also offers other insights, including the one on the Gagosian exhibition in San Francisco: “White Gold” by Edmund de Waal. The exhibition is open from 20 September to 8 December 2018 and exhibits for the first time, the new works bring poetry into porcelain vases together with a conceptual physics.

This and much more on this week's FIRST Arte: from the architectural suggestion of the Paris building that houses the Vuitton Foundation to Nathaniel Hawthorne's profile 8in English at the Christie's auction in New York on the precious Qianlong vase.

Until the end of September all the journalistic services of FIRST Arte can be consulted for free.
