The spread flies, for Mps and banks another tumble on the stock market

Even today, uncertainty and volatility are the dominant features of the continental stock exchanges, while the spread between the XNUMX-year Btp and the Bund increases: +4,62%, over 160 points. European stocks closed in the red, after recovering some ground in the afternoon with Wall Street moderately optimistic. Above all, it is oil that moves the American indices, which first loses ground, after the news that Saudi Arabia wants to increase its production, to put pressure on the countries that oppose containment, then contains the losses thanks to a denial of the Saudi Arabia itself.

Once one problem has been stemmed, however, others remain on the horizon: the uncertainty linked to the US presidential elections, a leitmotiv destined to last until November 8, and some macroeconomic data which increase the probability of a monetary tightening by the Federal Reserve in December. The number of jobs created in October disappoints, but the annual increase in hourly wages is the largest since June 2009.

Among the European lists the Ftse Mib closes at -0,62%, weighed down by some banks, in particular Mps, in the wake of the not very comforting news relating to the road show. Monte leaves more than 9% on the ground, and returns to just above 21 cents per share. Other stocks are under pressure, in particular Leonardo-Finmeccanica -3,42%, after the disappointing quarterly data, released yesterday, with markets closed. THE accounts better than expected neither did Telecom (-2,66%) and Intesa Sanpaolo (-1,47%).

Among the best titles: Tenaris (+4,72%) thanks to forecasts of a recovery in demand in North America for pipes used in the oil&gas sector, gas and electricity network companies are also in positive territory with Snam's +1,1% and +0,14% of Terna which announces a quarterly report with a net profit that has grown by 7% to 487 million.

The gap between the Italian and German decennial is widening e Minister Carlo Padoan warns: this happens because "there are fears on the market that the government's economic policy action will be interrupted". On the currency front, the euro and the dollar remain more or less on yesterday's values, with a slight appreciation of the single currency. On the other hand, on a day of passion for Ankara, the new historic low reached by the Turkish lira after the arrest of the leader and 10 other parliamentarians of the main Kurdish party should be recorded.
The other European lists: Frankfurt -0,65%, Paris -0,78%. Black jersey of the continent is London -1,43%, in the aftermath of twist on Brexit which returns the floor to the parliament.
