As expected, the dispute between the players' association and the club presidents that had led to the postponement of the first day of Serie A ended with the signing of the collective agreement.
The bridging agreement was signed by the president of the Serie A League, Maurizio Beretta, and the representative of the AIC, Damiano Tommasi. The kick-off will sound on Friday evening at the San Siro for the Milan-Lazio match.
“It is a very innovative agreement – commented Beretta -, the companies have obtained much of what they wanted”. Tommasi underlined the attitude of great responsibility shown by the players and didn't spare a last jab at the other side: "Since the clubs have achieved a lot, I don't think they will have any problems when it comes to discussing to sign the definitive agreement" .
