Lapo Elkann goes public and lists his “Italia Independent” eyewear

Lapo Elkann decides to bring his company, Italia Independent, to Piazza Affari. Andrea Tessitore, the managing director of the group which operates mainly in the eyewear market, said: “We are proud to be able to approve the listing project after just six years of activity, as recognition of a success that wants to become international and which with the listing we intend to consolidate and expand”. “The decision to list in our country, and not abroad – continued Tessitore – is meant to be a sign of trust and recognition for Italy and also a valid growth alternative for all small-medium companies”.

The Italia Independent Group shareholders' meeting approved the listing project of the company on the Aim, the alternative capital market in Piazza Affari. The shareholders also gave the go-ahead for a capital increase to serve the placement and confirmed the founder and majority shareholder Lapo Elkann as president and Tessitore himself as operational guide.

“The listing project – commented Elkann – represents a fundamental stage for the development of our group. Personally, I will continue to focus on the creative development of the products and the brand at an international level, an activity that has always been my passion, in support of the management team of the group led by Andrea Tessitore".
