US President Donald Trump announced the truce between Israel and Iran in a long post on Truth, which was somewhat unexpected given that the United States had just entered the conflict and hostilities seemed destined to continue and worsen. The announcement came while it was already night in the Middle East and also in Europe, so official reactions were slow in coming: for several hours neither side released official comments, and Iranian media reported that Israeli air strikes were still underway, including near the Iranian capital Tehran. Then it was Iran itself that made the first move, confirming that it was willing to accept the ceasefire with Israel, mediated by Qatar and proposed by the United States, albeit with certain conditions. The truce has come into effect at 7:30 a.m. Tehran time, 6 a.m. Italian time, the US and Iran confirmed. “The ceasefire is in effect, please do not violate it,” Trump wrote on Truth.
How the truce was reached
According to reconstructions, it went like this: just 48 hours after the first missiles fired by the US army towards Iran, Trump and Vance discussed the truce proposal, defined by the US president as "complete and total, and which will lead to the end of the war", with the emir of Qatar after the Iranian attacks on the American bases in Doha. The Qatari prime minister obtained Tehran's approval, albeit on one condition: that Israel's attacks stop immediately and not after 12 hours, as feared by Trump in his post. The first official comment from Iran came from the Foreign Minister Araghchi in the middle of the night: “The final decision on the ceasefire will be made later. There is no agreement now. Israel must stop its illegal aggression by 4 a.m. Tehran time.”
Soon after Israel has announced that it has accepted the proposal President Trump's call for a bilateral ceasefire. The Israeli government also announced that it has achieved "all objectives" of its war against Iran, stressing that it has eliminated “the immediate dual existential threat” from Iran, “in the nuclear and ballistic missile realms.” “Israel will respond forcefully to any violation of the ceasefire,” reads the Israeli government statement released by Benjamin Netanyahu’s office after Donald Trump’s announcement.
Trump's post on Truth

But just read Trump's post on Truth, which explains everything. Here's what the tycoon literally wrote (including the capital letters), crashing the social network that was stormed by views from all over the world: "CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL! It has been fully agreed between Israel and Iran that there will be a complete and total CEASEFIRE (in about 6 hours from now, when Israel and Iran will have concluded and completed their final ongoing missions!), for 12 hours, and after 24 hours the war will be considered OVER! Officially, Iran will initiate the CEASEFIRE, and at the twelfth hour, Israel will initiate the CEASEFIRE, and at the twenty-fourth hour the Official END of the 12 DAY WAR will be greeted by the entire world. During the CEASEFIRE, both sides will remain PEACEFUL and RESPECTFUL. Assuming that everything works out as it should, and it will, I would like to congratulate both countries, Israel and Iran, for having the Stamina, Courage and Intelligence to end what should be called “THE 12 DAY WAR”. This is a war that could have lasted for years and destroyed the entire Middle East, but it didn’t and never will! God Bless Israel, God Bless Iran, God Bless the Middle East, God Bless the United States of America and GOD BLESS THE WORLD!”
It should be added that while Trump was announcing a ceasefire between Iran and Israel, the US Vice President J.D. Vance, in an interview with Fox News, said that Iran “is now incapable of building a nuclear weapon with the equipment that it has, because we have destroyed it.”
