Intel Expected Lower Than Expected Results in Fourth Quarter

Warning from Intel on the results of the fourth quarter, which according to what was announced by the US computer giant will be lower than previous forecasts.

Intel also announced that its gross margin for the latter part of the year will be around 64,5%, with the margin up or down a couple of percentage points.

Fourth-quarter revenue will be lower than previous estimates, due to a shortage of supplies of hard disk drives. Intel now expects revenues of $13,7 billion, with a margin of $300 million. The Thomson Reuters IBES forecast was $14,65 billion.

The news immediately had a negative effect on the markets. The stock lost 3,2% in the pre-market.
