Honeywell has reached an agreement with EMS for 491 million dollars

The American Honeywell has announced that it is close to acquiring Ems Technologies, a company that operates in the communications and wireless technology sector, for 491 million dollars. The price offered is $33 per share, with a premium of approximately 33% compared to the last quotation. Ems operates mainly in two sectors: handheld and "wearable" computers aimed at the logistics market and satellite communications equipment in the aerospace and defense sectors. The Norcross, Georgia-based company went on the market last May under pressure from one of its shareholders, attracting the attention of more than one possible buyer. The move is part of a trend that is seeing an increasing number of medium-to-small high-tech companies being acquired in order to access the type of capital that lenders at this juncture seem reluctant to make available to them .
