The Dutchman Tom Domoulin defends his pink jersey with clenched teeth also in the Dolomite stage that brought the Giro d'Italia from Moena to Ortisei. Quintanq and Nibali failed to put him on the ropes and arrived at the finish line together with the pink jersey, which preceded them by a millimetre.
The stage in the Dolomites was won in the sprint by the American Van Garderen who outwitted Mikel Landa, as Nibali had done in recent days.
At this point Quintana and Nibali only have one last chance, in tomorrow's mountain stage, to rock the standings and try to snatch the pink jersey from Domoulin who, however, appears very solid at the head of the race
