The project includes 14 stages throughout Italy and aims to offer young people useful information to help them navigate supplementary pensions and financial planning. The third editionThe initiative aims to involve over 10 participants and is part of the financial and insurance education activities of the company led by CEO Davide Passero.

Young people and social security: preparation still insufficient

The strengthening of the project is motivated by the results of the latest edition of theEdufin Index, the observatory on awareness financial e insurance of Italians promoted by Alleanza together with the Mario Gasbarri Foundation and with the scientific contribution of SDA Bocconi School of Management. The data show how the level of financial literacy of the young Italians remain under the sufficiency, with peaks of difficulty particularly evident between the ages of 18 and 34. Specifically, young people between the ages of 18 and 24 record an average score of 51 out of 100, while in the 25-34 age group they stop at 55.

Il Pension Index, a specific indicator on knowledge and social security behaviour, confirms values lower than the national average: 41 out of 100 between 18 and 24 years old and 46 between 25 and 34. Understanding of the mechanisms of supplementary pensions is even more limited, highlighting the need for concrete interventions to encourage more informed pension choices from the first steps of a working career.

“Young people are today among the groups most exposed to social security fragilities: the data from the Edufin Index clearly show how knowledge and awareness on the subject of social security are still insufficient, especially among 18 to 34 year olds – he explained Claudia Ghinfanti, Marketing Manager of Alleanza Assicurazioni. "It is precisely from this real need that the new Financial Education Tour was born, a project that renews our commitment to the region in 2026 with 14 dedicated events and formats. This is the largest tour dedicated to pension planning for young Italians, with the aim of fully exploring their level of preparation and awareness. Thanks to the collaboration with Starting Finance and the commitment of our network of 10 consultants, we want to introduce young people to simple, concrete tools to begin building their pension future, even in small steps. Investing in knowledge means giving young people the opportunity to make informed choices and face the future with greater peace of mind."
