Ducati to India: the offer from Eicher Motors

The Indian manufacturer Eicher Motors, owner of the Royal Enfield motorcycles, intends to present an offer of 1,8-2 billion dollars to the German group Volkswagen for the purchase of Ducati, currently managed by its Audi division. The newspaper The Economic Times writes it today. Siddharta Lal, CEO of Eicher, "is fine-tuning - the newspaper assures us - his proposal from a structural and financial point of view with a series of banks and consultancy firms. It should be ready before the submission deadline, by the end of the month."

Since April, VW has mandated Evercore to sell Ducati for no less than $1,5 billion. This project, according to the media,
has attracted the interest of possible buyers, including the private investment funds KKK and CVC Capital Partners, and the American manufacturers Harley Davidson, Japanese Suzuki, and Indian Bajaj Auto, Hero MotoCorp and, of course, Eicher Motors.
