Cassa Depositi e Prestiti announces the creation of CDP Foundation, “established to pursue social, environmental, cultural and economic development goals, with particular attention to initiatives in favor of the younger generations and in support of human capital”, reads a note.
In particular, the Cassa "will promote actions with a high social impact" in four main areas of intervention:
- Training and social inclusion. "Projects to combat educational poverty and early school leaving will be activated, supporting the training of young people with high specialization in the most requested disciplines for entry into the job market such as technical-scientific ones with a focus on digital".
- Culture. CDP will promote "actions to enhance the excellence of the Italian cultural and artistic heritage, supporting young talents".
- Analysis, studies, research. "Scientific research in collaboration with institutions, universities, research centers will be supported, promoting the growth of young talents in Italy and abroad".
- Sustainability and emergency support. The Foundation "will undertake to face the challenge of sustainable and responsible development, also raising awareness among civil society in initiatives aimed at combating climate change, promoting education on environmental sustainability, energy transition and the circular economy".
Pasquale Salzano will be President of the Foundation, while Mario Vitale will cover the role of general manager.

The CDP Foundation strengthens the commitment historically made by the group for the social, cultural, environmental and economic development of Italy".
The managing director of the Cassa, Fabrizio Palermo, adds that, "with the launch of the Foundation, CDP equips itself with an instrument which, in its full autonomy of governance and action, is called to act with determination and effectiveness on strategic issues for the future of our country".
