Calzedonia, 2017 dedicated to profits and new openings

The growth of the group led by Sandro Veronesi continues. All the brands contributed to the growth in turnover and profits, which rose to 249 million - In 2017, 242 new stores were opened, of which 189 abroad.

The Calzedonia group continues to run. In 2017 it closed the balance sheet with a turnover of 2.314 million euros, up 8,7% compared to 2016, and a net profit that rose from 208 to 249 million. All the brands contributed to the growth in turnover, starting with Calzedonia (802 million), Intimissimi (691 million) and Tezenis (609 million).

Attention to costs and some changes in commercial policies have consolidated the ebitda, rose from 388 to 489 million euros. In 2017 they were opened 242 new stores, of which well 189 abroad, especially in Spain, France, Russia, Germany and the United States, including the opening in New York on Fifth Avenue, as well as in Japan and China. As at 31.12.2017, a total of 4.454 points of sale operated under the group's brands, of which 2.758 abroad and 1.696 in Italy.

The share of foreign turnover increases significantly (+54%) as well as online sales volumes. On the production front, in addition to the plants already present in Italy, Sri Lanka, Croatia, Romania, Bulgaria and Serbia, a new factory in Ethiopia also went into operation in 2017. In Italy, the development of Falconeri, whose production is now entirely Made in Italy, will continue, along with the opening of the “Intimissimi Uomo” stores and of Atelier Emé.
