European stock exchanges: weak start to GDP day

Among the stock exchanges of the Old Continent, only Piazza Affari travels in positive territory (+0,34) – Cnh Industrial, Saipem and Tenaris do well – Thump for Ferragamo (-5,4%), the other luxury stocks also do bad – Bad day for the Asian markets

European stock exchanges: weak start to GDP day

After yesterday's sharp drop, today Milan is going against the trend when compared to the main European financial markets. Business Square earn it 0,34% at 9,45 am. On the other hand, all the other European markets start negative, awaiting the statistics on the trend of GDP in the Eurozone: Frankfurt loses 0,39%, Paris loses 0,49%, Madrid falls by 0,23% and London loses 0,52%.

After the first hour of trading, the best Ftse-Mib stocks are Cnh Industrial (+2,42%), Saipem (+1,51%) and Tenaris (+1,23%). Heavy thud for the Ferragamo title than at 9,45 loses 5,43%. In general, the other stocks linked to the world of luxury were also bad with Moncler losing 2,06%, Yoox losing 1,16% and Tod's recording a decrease of 0,81%.

The negative performance of Italian luxury stocks is closely linked to that of the Asian markets, and in particular of the Chinese ones, which closed with a strong deficit. In detail, Shanghai closed with the main index at 3580,84 points, recording a decrease of the1,43%. An even worse day for the other Chinese market, that of Shenzhen which closed the week by closing today's session with a drop of 2,39%.

The day in Hong Kong was also decidedly negative with the Hang Seng index losing 2,15% today. Instead, a more contained drop for Tokyo: the Nikkei index closed with a drop of 0,51%. Seoul (-1,01%) and Taiwan (-1,17%) were also negative today.
