Contrasted closure for the Asian markets with the Shanghai Stock Exchange which fails in a timid attempt to recover the heavy losses of the day before and closes down by 0,52% at 2.735 points. The Hong Kong Stock Exchange, aided by the recovery of Wall Street and the European markets, closed with an increase of 1,02% to 19.052,45 points.
Positive day also for the Tokyo Stock Exchange reinvigorated by the rebound in oil prices which gave Wall Street new impetus while awaiting the decisions of the Fed. The Nikkei index of leading stocks closed up 2,72% at 17.163,92 points. The broader Topix index gained 2,98% to 1.400,70 yen.
