Stock market, record Telecom: contracts traded for 3 billion in September

First the rumors about the entry of a new shareholder and then the transfer of control of Telco to Telefonica. September was an intense month for Telecom, which ended up in the spotlight of the market enough to touch a new trading record: the value of the contracts has almost reached a total of close to 3 billion euro, or 2,883 billion, which represents 35% of the capitalization of the telephone company at yesterday's closing (8,18 billion).

A dizzying growth if we consider that in the last 12 months the average had hovered between 1 and 1,5 billion euros, with a peak of 1,7 billion in April. The number of contracts has shot up to 391, against an average of around 150.

The daily peaks, with 300-350 million euros of trades and over 30 thousand contracts, were reached on 5 and 24 September, i.e. the day on which the rumors about a capital increase for a new shareholder had come out and the day before the official announcement of the Telco-Telefonica agreement.

While waiting for Moody's decision, which could cut the rating on the stock to "junk", Telecom shares are up today by more than 2% in a positive morning for the Italian stock market, with the eyes of the markets focused on the political situation and the vote of trust in Enrico Letta.
