The purchases were triggered by press rumors about an alliance between Endesa, a subsidiary of Enel, and the Chinese group State Grid Corporation of China, the largest company in the world active in the transmission and distribution of electricity. Thanks to the contract, Endesa should bring the first supplies of shale gas to Italy.
As reported by La Repubblica, in the next three months Enel and the Chinese public giant will set up a working group to study the birth of a joint venture. This is a very important step that opens the way to the east for the Italian energy giant.
