Banca IFIS with Barclays and Guber acquires 1,4 billion Npl

Banca IFIS has acquired a portfolio of non-performing loans worth 1,4 billion euro with Barclays Bank and Guber Banca.

In detail, this is a portfolio containing over 22.000 positions, "credit lines of banking origin assigned by a leading financial institution, the institution specifies", of which 19.500 were acquired by Banca IFIS for an amount of approximately 535 million euro of nominal value. The remaining part, approximately 900 million euro, was purchased by Guber and Barclays Bank through the vehicle Gaia SPV.

Overall, from 1 January to 30 November of this year, Banca IFIS, which holds a market share of approximately 50% in the unsecured NPL asset class, acquired 1,531 billion euro of non-performing loans and recovered 231 million euro of cash flows from the proprietary NPL portfolio.

In the same period of time, the institute led by Luciano Colombini assigned credits to specialized operators for a residual total nominal value of 586 million. "All the sales were concluded at values ​​above book values," the bank said in a note. Following all these transactions, the group's proprietary portfolio now reaches a nominal value of 17,3 billion euro, to which must be added 6,5 billion euro managed on behalf of third parties for a total amount of 23,8 billion EUR.  

In Piazza Affari, Banca IFIS shares gained 0,2% to 13,45 euros.
