The Italvolley girls were phenomenal: they earned the final of the 2018 World Cup in Japan. At the end of a very long battle (over two hours) fought point by point, the Italian women's volleyball team defeated China 3-2 (25-18, 21-25, 25-16, 29-31, 17-15) reaching thus the last act of the event taking place in the land of the rising sun.
The blues were able to beat the Olympic champions of China in the semifinals. Hero of the day is Egonu, who scored 45 points.
Mazzanti's blues thus achieved a result that the Italian national team had been missing for 16 years, when the final turned to Berlin.
This time between Italy and the Cup there will be Serbia, who in the other semifinal defeated the Netherlands 3-1 (25-22, 26-28, 25-19, 25-23). The final is scheduled for tomorrow at 12.40.
