Unicredit adheres to the Convention for tourism companies: 6 billion for the sector

The agreement signed between the Ministry of Tourism, Cdp and Abi provides for energy requalification interventions, environmental sustainability and digital innovation for Italian tourism companies

Unicredit adheres to the Convention for tourism companies: 6 billion for the sector

Unicredit is the first bank in Italy to adhere to the Agreement signed between Ministry of Tourism, Cdp and Abi which governs the granting of subsidized loans, for a total of 1,4 billion in funds in favor of tourism businesses of the country, from the 'Revolving Fund for the support of businesses and investments in research'.

In detail, the bank led by Orcel will make it available to businesses in the tourism sector loans on favorable terms, with a duration of up to 15 years, and will mobilize a further billion to support investments in energy redevelopment, environmental sustainability and digital innovation, in line with the objectives of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR). The credit lines, a note highlights, are in addition to the 5 billion ceiling already allocated with the "Made4Italy" program for companies in the tourism and agri-food sector in the three-year period 2022-2024, as part of the UniCredit PNRR Solutions initiative.

“The country's tourism sector – he said Remo Taricani, Deputy Head of Unicredit Italia – is experiencing a recovery season in recent months after the difficulties of recent years related to travel restrictions which, however, still weigh on company balance sheets and hold back investments. Precisely for this reason we wanted to be the first to join the Convention signed between the Ministry, CDP and ABI immediately, in order to support the redevelopment of accommodation facilities, an essential step to intercept the new tourist demand".
