The first quarter of Banco Santander ends, which closes with a net profit down by 26% on an annual basis, at 1,205 billion euros. The result, explains the Spanish banking giant in a note released today, is affected by the "deceleration of the main economies and the fall in the interest rate".
However, the president of the institute, Emilio Botin, spreads optimism, saying he is sure that “the 2013 profit will be much higher than the 2,29 billion in 2012”.
