The Assicurazioni Generali group announces that today it has acquired 510 million ordinary shares of Intesa Sanpaolo, equal to 3,04% of the total share capital of the same, and that it has initiated the procedure to terminate the previously announced securities lending. At the same time – reads a brief note – Generali carried out a transaction in collateralized derivative instruments to fully hedge the economic risk associated with the purchase of the aforementioned shares.
Just today the president of Leone, Gabriele Galateri di Genola, had intervened on the Entente question: “I have not made any foreclosures. I said – Galateri clarified – that if there were valid hypotheses of industrial collaboration that even partially respect the rules of the game of governance in terms of clarity and transparency, we would obviously evaluate them”.
