Fiorentina-Napoli, a draw (1-1) that only makes Juve happy

Beautiful and pyrotechnic challenge between Paulo Sousa's team and Sarri's team: Marcos Alonso scores for the Viola and the usual Higuain draws for the Neapolitans but the result only serves Juve, who are now first in the standings with a three-point advantage over the Neapolitans – Fiorentina is third with Roma but remains in the sights of Inter and Milan

Fiorentina-Napoli, a draw (1-1) that only makes Juve happy

A draw that serves Juve above all. The 1-1 draw between Fiorentina and Napoli certifies the first seasonal "mini-break" of the Bianconeri, now in command of the championship with a 3-point lead over the Azzurri: numbers that leave everything open, God forbid, but which mean a lot seen and considering that, just 2 weeks ago, the hierarchies were completely different.

Franchi's draw does not fully satisfy Fiorentina either, joined by Roma in third place (and on Friday there will be a direct match at the Olimpico) and still in the sights of Inter and Milan, now separated by 5 and 6 points. In short, the worst result came out of the wheel of Florence, the one that served the Viola and the Azzurri least, but a logical consequence of a good and balanced game, played openly by both sides and remained in the balance until the last second.

“The draw is right, in the first half they would have deserved but in the second half we did something more – confirmed Sarri. – I am happy with my team and I congratulate Fiorentina, I think they are technically the strongest in the league. Juve? The fact that he is only 3 points away is a compliment for us, he is keeping an incredible pace and if he continues like this there will be nothing we can do".

It is not a surrender but a simple admission of reality. On the other hand, a drop (2 draws and 1 defeat in the last 3 games) was enough to see the black and whites back on top, in defiance of all the good things done previously. And the same goes for Higuain, increasingly top scorer in the championship (with yesterday's scorer we are at 25 goals in 27 days) yet criticized for just two stop games.

“Everything can be discussed but in front of his numbers you have to keep quiet – Sarri's defense. – It's not a question of physical form but of mental tiredness, I'm happy he returned to scoring immediately ”. Pipita, caught during the week by his own president, took 7' to pierce Tatarusanu's goal: the fault of a mess by the goalkeeper and Marcos Alonso, who literally gave the Argentine the equaliser.

Yes, because a minute earlier it was the Viola who had taken the lead with the same Spanish full-back, good at heading off a corner from Borja Valero. A pyrotechnic match that saw Fiorentina dominate for about an hour (sensational crossbars from Kalinic and Tello) and Napoli emerge in the second half (the double chance for Callejon and Higuain was equally great, blocked by two great saves from Tatarusanu).

“I'm very satisfied with my team, they approached the race perfectly – thought Paulo Sousa. – In the first half we canceled Napoli, in the second we dropped and they came out. I'm sorry for the lack of victory but I'm still proud: it's not enough for me to win, I want to offer proactive and exciting football." Many compliments but only one point: here it is the summary of Fiorentina-Napoli. A beautiful match which, however, made the fans of the other teams happy above all.
