Ferrari closes the Binotto season and calls Fred Vasseur in his place. Ferrari has announced that Fred Vasseur will join Scuderia Ferrari on January 9 as Team Principal and General Manager, taking over from Mattia Binotto. Vasseur has over 25 years of successful motor racing experience, starting in junior formulas and the last decade in Formula 1. During this period, his success in nurturing talented drivers was also widely recognized, taking the series by storm GP2 both in 2005 (Nico Rosberg) and in 2006 (Lewis Hamilton).

Ferrari: Vasseur arrives from Alfa Romeo

Fred Vasseur has held the position of CEO and Team Principal of the company since 2017 Sauber motorsport (now Alfa Romeo F1 Team). Previously, in 2016, he was the Team Principal of Renault F1 Team. Ferrari CEO Benedetto Vigna said he was happy “to welcome Fred Vasseur to Ferrari as our Team Principal. Throughout his career he has successfully combined his technical strengths, thanks to his experience as an engineer, with a constant ability to stimulate the best in his drivers and teams. This approach and his leadership are what we need to grow Ferrari with renewed energy ”.

Mattia Binotto has resigned from Ferrari last November 29 after having spent 28 years of his life in the Maranello team.
