Eni drills first exploration well in Texas: 750 barrels of oil

Eni successfully completes the first drilling operation in the southern part of the Delaware basin, in West Texas, about 700 kilometers northwest of Houston, aimed at the exploration of oil resources. The action, which is part of the agreement with Quicksilver Resources, concerns the Stallings 1H well, drilled to a vertical depth of 2.250 meters and then completed along a horizontal section of 900 metres. The field produces 750 barrels of oil equivalent per day, 90% of which is oil.

In a note, Eni highlights how this operation "represents a promising start for the activities that Eni is carrying out in the field of unconventional oil resources in the United States". Production from the proceeds of this well will begin in September. Furthermore, the Eni-Quicksilver tandem has already started drilling a second well – Mitchel 1H, 7 km north of the current one – with the same mining objectives as the Stallings 1H field.
