Le trimestrali inizialmente sostengono le European stock exchanges, ma i listini del Vecchio Continente perdono slancio dopo l’apertura di Wall Street, appesantiti dalla nuova ondata di vendite sui titoli tecnologici. Gli investitori restano concentrati sui dubbi legati ai ritorni degli ingenti investimenti nell’intelligenza artificiale, dopo il calo dei titoli dei semiconduttori che ha colpito anche i mercati asiatici, con Seul e Tokyo finite sotto pressione. A pesare sul comparto tech è anche il caso Nvidia, che ha annunciato un possibile sostegno finanziario da circa 250 miliardi di dollari a OpenAI per un maxi progetto di data center in Ohio: una cifra record che alimenta i timori sulla sostenibilità della corsa agli investimenti nell’AI e sulla capacità di trasformarli in utili concreti.

In this context from Paris to Frankfurt, Madrid to London and Amsterdam predominano le vendite, con Milan fanalino di coda zavorrata dal Saipem's collapse dopo i conti. Avanzano invece i titoli della Difesa, con Leonardo, Avio and Fincantieri which achieved the best performances of the FTSE MIB. The collapse of Seoul (-10%) and of Asian chips weighed down Prysmian and Stmicroelectronics.
Luxury stocks are in good shape: Ferrari and Cucinelli they rise thanks to the LVMH positive results. Well Stellantis (+1,28%) with the entire European automotive sector following the rally Mercedes Benz in Frankfurt, while the banking sector looks on the one hand at the data of Barclays (in sharp decline in London) and on the other hand to the risk game, with the hypothesis of a merger between MPS and BPM in an alternative operation to the offer of Understanding on the mountain. All three stocks involved are trading higher.

On other markets, the euro trading at $1,1372 from yesterday's closing of $1,1376 while spot gold scende dello 0,6% a 4.052 dollari l’oncia. Sul fronte obbligazionario prevale la stabilità: lo spread tra Btp e Bund resta intorno agli 80 punti base, mentre il rendimento del decennale italiano si muove in lieve calo rispetto alla seduta precedente.
