Netflix joins the Sky package in Europe. The two groups have announced an important new alliance to bundle the entire Netflix service within a new Sky TV subscription package.
The partnership, the first of its kind in the world, will offer millions of Sky customers direct access to Netflix through the Sky Q platform. Sky will make the breadth of Netflix available to new and existing customers by creating a tailor-made TV entertainment package, which for the first time will bring together Sky and Netflix content under the same roof.
The Netflix service includes hundreds of hours of Ultra HD content that will add to Sky's rich Ultra HD programming. Thanks to the Netflix App integrated into Sky Q and the Netflix programming promoted together with Sky content, customers will be able to see the best entertainment offer, as well as free-to-air TV, all on the Sky platform.
As part of this new agreement, Sky customers will be able to have direct access to Netflix content within the Sky Q menu, and easily find their favorite Netflix programs using the search and voice command functions. of Sky Q. Existing Netflix customers will also be offered the option of migrating their account to the new Sky TV package, or signing into the Netflix app using their existing account details, thus enjoying greater convenience in using the Netflix service.
SKY NETFLIX, WHEN?
Thanks to the new partnership, next year we will see the launch of Netflix, together with the new Sky TV package, on the Sky Q platform in the UK and Ireland and later in Italy, Germany and Austria.
The agreement with Netflix also extends to Sky streaming services without a subscription. In the UK and Ireland, Sky will launch Netflix as a standalone app on the NOW TV family of streaming devices, including the recently launched NOW TV Smart Stick. Sky Ticket in Germany and Austria, and NOW TV in Italy, will also launch an app on their devices.
