La Hello, European Investment Bank, and Intesa Sanpaolo, through the Imi Corporate & Investment Banking Division, have signed a deal worth 300 million euros aimed at supporting the creation of new student residences and accommodations at a controlled price in Italy.
In detail, this initiative will finance investment programmes promoted by public and private operators for the construction of sustainable housing and facilities dedicated to students, helping to respond to a growing housing demand particularly in areas characterised by greater demographic and university pressure.

For Intesa Sanpaolo, the agreement demonstrates the group's commitment to supporting initiatives capable of generating economic and social value for the country. "The 2026-2029 Business Plan confirms this commitment, with the aim of strengthening financial inclusiveness through social lending, lending to the third sector, financing affordable housing and essential infrastructure, and lending to vulnerable people," the bank led by Carlo Messina emphasized in a statement.

The details of the project
The financing of the Bei will be able to cover up to 50% of the cost The total amount of the individual eligible projects will be allocated, while the remaining portion will be secured through additional funding sources and the promoters' own resources. The agreement will enable investments totaling approximately €600 million. Intesa Sanpaolo will act as financial intermediary, making EIB resources available through specific financing operations aimed at projects that meet the criteria set by European legislation and by the European Investment Bank itself.
