Steno Marcegaglia, one of the Italian lords of steel, founder and president of the homonymous steel group and father of Emma, former president of Confindustria, passed away in the Milan hospital where he was hospitalized following a fall.

The entrepreneur, who had founded his company in 1959, was 83 years old. His group, based in Gazoldo degli Ippoliti, in the province of Mantua, belongs entirely to the Marcegaglia family: now his children Emma and Antonio will take over the reins.

Steno Marcegaglia's recipe was this: "The winning formula for building a leading company: great ambition, the ability to take risks, the tenacity and dedication of all the collaborators". A simple but successful recipe that has given birth to a leading company in the sector, a structure that processes 5 million tons of steel every year and has 7.500 employees, 52 commercial units, 210 commercial representatives and 50 factories in all the world.
