Telecom Italia in the spotlight. In fact, rumors of a merger between Tim Brasil, a subsidiary of Telecom Italia, and Gvt, a Brazilian fixed-line telephony and optical fiber company headed by the French group Vivendi, are back. The hypothesis is relaunched by Il Sole 24 Ore according to which the merger would take place through a mixed cash and share transaction.
According to the financial newspaper, the shares of the hypothetical exchange would not be those of Tim Partecipacoes, but those of the parent company Telecom Italia. In opening markets, the Telecom Italia title reflects the general trend of the Ftse Mib losing 0,4% a 0,8765 euro.
