Sony, operating black momentum -90%

The black moment continues for Sony. The Japanese company cut its full-year operating profit estimates by 90%.

Against a previous estimate of 1,8 billion euros and a consensus of 1,5 billion, operating profit is now valued at 185 million euros. The net loss was quantified at around 850 million euros.

The floods that hit Thailand have halted the production of cameras in the Southeast Asian country.

It is appropriate to say that it rains on wet days for the Japanese who are already grappling with a strong yen which is keeping television sales low in the USA and Europe. The net loss in the first half was 400 million euros.
