Credit-default swaps on Italy soar to all-time highs

Derivative products with insolvency insurance as collateral signal investors' distrust of Italian debt. A climate that also affects France and the so-called Pigs.

Credit-default swaps on Italy, the derivative contracts that signal the risk of insolvency, have soared to an all-time high of 422,5 points on the CMA platform. This was reported by the Bloomberg agency. Record levels also for the French CDS (179 points). The Greek ones (at 2.428 points), the Irish (825) and the Spanish (410) also rose sharply.
