Probably many of you have already noticed it, and maybe this article will be able to express a mood using the new Facebook “reactions”. As had already been announced, from today on the bulletin boards of the most used social network in the world it is possible not only to comment or put the outdated "like", but by clicking on the respective emoticons five other possible "reactions" are available to the user: love, amazement, sadness, anger, hilarity.
In all, there are now six reactions: the old “like” button (which has remained) and the five emoticons, which represent an amused face, an amazed one, a crying one and an angry one. To use them, you need to move the mouse pointer over the "like" button, and the reactions appear a little higher up. Yes smartphone instead you have to hold down the like button: after the reactions appear, scrolling left and right you can choose the one you want. There is no "I don't like" button, which some newspapers had erroneously talked about and which, however, apparently is not in Facebook's plans.
Facebook already announced and began testing the new keys months ago, rolling them out to some users in some countries, but said they will be available to all users in all countries today. While Facebook's plans aren't fully clear yet, it is likely that “reactions” can become a very useful tool for page managers, who will be able to more accurately gauge the reaction of their users to each individual post. In the future, Facebook might also exploit them in advertising, diversifying the way it generates revenue thanks to the advertisements displayed on its site and through the paid services it offers to page managers to highlight their content.
Sammi Krug, product manager at Facebook, he wrote in the Facebook blog post announcing the introduction of reactions: “Every day, people come to Facebook to find out what is happening in their world and around the world, and they share all be it happy, sad, funny, or thoughtful updates. News Feed is the main way you get updates on your friends, family and everything that interests you, and the main place to have conversations with the people you care about. We listened to people and realized that there should be more ways to more easily and quickly express how something you see in the News Feed makes you feel. That's why today we're introducing Reactions, an extension of the Like button, to give you more ways to share your reactions to a post quickly and easily."
