Generali presents "Protection is an art", The volume published by Giunti which tells the story of the world of conservation and protection of artistic heritage, through the experiences of the Group's professionals who work every day to protect works of art.
La first public presentation of the book it is in Scheduled for Friday, September 25th at 12pm, at the Giunti Odeon Cinema Theater in Piazza degli Strozzi, Florence. The meeting will be an opportunity to explore, together with the authors, the role of insurance in the art world and the importance of protecting cultural heritage.
The volume brings together contributions from insurance experts, archivists, art historians, restorers, and engineers at Arte Generali, the Group's subsidiary founded in 2020 and specializing in insurance solutions for private collectors, museums, institutions, and exhibition organizers. The pages feature stories and anecdotes that demonstrate the complexity of protecting a work of art: from the restoration of Banksy's graffiti to accidents that, in some cases, have led to new discoveries. The narrative also extends to Generali's historical and artistic heritage, from the Procuratie in Piazza San Marco in Venice, now home to the House of The Human Safety Net, to the company's art collection and historical archive.
