There will be many innovations introduced by the Ministry of Economic Development regarding theuse of meal vouchers. Among these, good news for agritourisms.
Agriturist, the association that brings together Confagricoltura's agritourisms, confirms that it will be possible to use meal vouchers also in agritourisms, company outlets and farmer markets. This is undoubtedly a good opportunity to expand the clientele for these types of business.
“Meal vouchers – underlined the president of the association Cosimo Melacca – have long since become a real form of income support for families, used for shopping and not just for eating meals during work breaks. Being able to 'spend' them on agricultural spending or on agritourism meals in the establishments that will join can be appreciated by producers and consumers”.
“We hope – continued the Agriturist president – that this decision will be one more opportunity for consumers to buy genuine products directly from farmers and to taste traditional dishes with agricultural masterpieces. We will see if the operators will not be discouraged by the additional costs of the service and the long waits to collect the advance payments”.
“The provision – concluded Agriturist – will allow two and a half million workers to spend up to eight meal vouchers at once, for a turnover estimated at three billion euros. There are over 23.000 agritourisms in Italy, while there are more than 260 farms that carry out direct sales.
