Artificial Intelligence: Fibercop and AI4I launch strategic partnership

Fibercop has joined as participating member of the Italian Institute of Artificial Intelligence (AI4I), strengthening dialogue with the research community and its commitment to developing innovative solutions for the country.

Joining AI4I is part of a broader initiative aimed at fostering innovation and enhancing digital infrastructure. In this context, Fibercop will make its expertise and widespread network available to contribute to the development of new applications based on artificial intelligence. with particular attention to the evolution of the Edge Cloud, a model that allows data and services to be processed close to users and territories, reducing response times and improving performance.

At the heart of the collaboration is also the Creation of a joint laboratory dedicated to testing innovative use cases on the Edge CloudThe lab will focus on the development and validation of advanced applications capable of enabling increasingly high-performance and localized services, thanks to the integration of distributed computing capabilities and network infrastructures.

“Joining AI4I and starting a joint journey on Edge Cloud use cases represent an important opportunity for Fibercop to consolidate our role within the innovation ecosystem – explains Daniele Franceschini, Head of Technology & Innovation at Fibercop – and thus contribute to the development of concrete applications with high technological value”.

Fibercop's entry into AI4I and the creation of a Joint Lab dedicated to the Edge Cloud represent an important step in building the infrastructure that will bring artificial intelligence ever closer to the places where data, services, and production processes are generated. The combination of next-generation networks, distributed computational capacity, and applied research opens up significant opportunities for the development of innovative applications with high industrial impact. In this context, high-performance infrastructure is not simply a technological support, but a strategic asset for translating artificial intelligence research into concrete industrial value. Through this collaboration, we are leveraging complementary skills with the aim of accelerating technology transfer and strengthening the country's ability to develop and manage strategic technologies,” he stated. Fabio Pammolli, President of the Italian Institute of Artificial Intelligence (AI4I).

Fibercop will bring to the partnership the value of its national infrastructure, characterized by a widespread presence and a growing evolution towards distributed computing models, key factors for the development of next-generation digital services. For AI4I, the Joint Lab represents a further step in the strategy aimed at connecting research, computing infrastructures and the production system, leveraging the skills of its Research, Development and Engineering Centre, the AI Foundry and a national ecosystem of scientific and industrial partners oriented towards the development and diffusion of advanced artificial intelligence applications.

The partnership it fits into an open innovation model oriented towards technology transfer and the creation of shared value, with the aim of strengthening the competitiveness of the Italian industrial system and accelerating the adoption of artificial intelligence-based solutions.
