Telecom, brief flare-up on the Stock Exchange and tomorrow the Board of Directors which should approve the spin-off of the network

Tomorrow, Telecom Italia's Board of Directors will approve the unbundling of the fixed network. Bloomberg reported the news, claiming that this is what Socgen analysts write after a meeting with the company's management.

"Telecom Italia will probably reach an agreement in principle to go ahead with the separation of the network and the discussions with Cassa depositi e prestiti and others will be able to start at full speed" said Socgen. After the news Telecom had a flare up on the Stock Exchange, gaining 1,6%. Half an hour after the close, the stock gained 0,54%.

Even Intermonte analysts in a note today say they expect tomorrow's board of directors to give the green light to the separation process, which could in any case be interrupted in a second phase, depending on what will be contained in the new sector regulation that EU will decide shortly. This step is preparatory to a possible agreement with Cassa depositi e prestiti for the sale of a 20-25% stake in the new company for 2 billion euro.

Equita's analysts agree: "We expect tomorrow's board to decide on its willingness to proceed with the separation of Opac, the hypothetical new access network company". They also remind them that the effective implementation of the same will depend on the agreement to be reached with the authority regarding the regulatory framework.
