Green light to the Bond Mountains. The Council of State rejected the appeal presented by Codacons which requested as a precautionary measure to stop the issuance of Monti bonds worth 3,9 billion euro granted to Monte dei Paschi di Siena. The new sentence, issued on Friday 22 March, but only made known today, follows that of the Lazio TAR, which had already rejected the appeal on 22 February.
According to the administrative judge, “the objection of lack of active legitimacy of the original appellants and current appellants, proposed by the appellant parties, does not appear groundless", since "the appeal is defined above all as proposed for the protection of citizens and taxpayers".
