The eyes of Rupert Murdoch they are aimed at Mediaset. According to what was reported yesterday by Il Sole 24 Ore, the Australian tycoon's NewsCorp would be evaluating whether to take the field in the newco that the Biscione is working on to merge the pay TV activities in Italy and Spain. Investors like the indiscretion and today, at the end of the morning, the Mediaset stock is up 1,34%, to 3,928 euros.
The newspaper writes that "Murdoch would have expressed an interest in evaluating the dossier through NewsCorporation, his media conglomerate which also owns Sky Italia, among other investments".
Other big media companies have already come forward for the newco that Mediaset is developing, such as the Arab Al Jazeera, the German Rtl and the French Canal+.
