Starting with the last book "The Great Romance of the Gospels"Conrad Augeas will meet the public on 21 January 2020 at 18 at Maxxi to tell how i Gospels are not only the sacred text of Christianity, but also an extraordinary deposit of stories, characters, passions. To introduce the Lectio Magistralis of Augias – included in the cycle of events linked to the exhibition Of the spiritual matter of art – will be Giovanna Melandri, president of the Maxxi Foundation.
With this book, Augias and Philoramus they succeed in a difficult task: to narrate a story we thought we knew in a surprisingly new way.
They do it by trying to answer seemingly simple questions: “But what do we really know about Maria, Pilate, Pietro, of the crowd listening to the Sermon on the Mount? Who really are the men and women of that great polyphonic novel that are the Gospels?”
Corrado Augias started from an interview with one of the major historians of Christianity, John Filoramo and with him he examines the lives narrated by the evangelists but also untold secrets, origins or destinies.
